Born May 14, 2004 to Academy Award-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow and English Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, Apple is their first child. Ms. Paltrow told Oprah Winfrey in Aug. 2004 on 鈥淥prah鈥� that Mr. Martin had suggested the name during her pregnancy. "It conjured such a lovely picture for me 鈥� you know, apples are so sweet and they're wholesome and it's biblical 鈥� and I just thought it sounded so lovely and... clean."
The couple also has a son, Moses Bruce Anthony Martin, born April 8, 2006, who was named after a song penned by Martin for Paltrow in 2003.
