'The House I Live In': movie review

The analysis in Eugene Jarecki's documentary on the domestic war on drugs is too simplistic.

By Peter Rainer , Film critic

鈥淭he House I Live In,鈥 Eugene Jarecki鈥檚 documentary about the domestic 鈥淲ar on Drugs,鈥 makes the point that over the past 40 years, 40 million arrests have been made, making America the world鈥檚 largest jailer. Yet drugs are cheaper and more available than ever before.

Jarecki鈥檚 thesis is that law enforcement targets minority communities, but his analysis is far too simplistic. Since when did pushers become victims? Grade: C+ (Unrated.)
