What is next for the stars of 'Parks and Recreation'?

With "Parks and Recreation" ending, where can you get your Amy Poehler, Nick Offerman, and Chris Pratt fix in the coming months?

By Rowena Lindsay, Staff Writer

After seven seasons, NBC鈥檚 sitcom 鈥淧arks and Recreation鈥 is coming to a close Tuesday night.

The show was known for combining intelligent humor with silly scenarios and being eternally optimistic. Viewers stuck with the show 鈥 through many cancellation threats 鈥 for the lovable characters that one couldn鈥檛 help by get attached to and the talented actors who portrayed them.

The show has helped launch or invigorate the careers of many of the lead actors, notably Chris Pratt and Nick Offerman. Here are the show鈥檚 stars next projects once the 鈥淧arks and Recreation鈥 withdrawal kicks in.

Amy Poehler (Leslie Knope)

While many have called for the former Saturday Night Live Weekend Update host to fill Jon Stewart鈥檚 soon to be vacated seat on 鈥淭he Daily Show,鈥 nothing has been confirmed yet.

For now, Amy Poehler is working with fellow SNL greats Tina Fey and Maya Rudolph on 鈥淪isters,鈥 a movie about two sisters who decide to throw one last house party before their parents sell their home. Since all three women have children of their own, it should be interesting see them playing teenagers. The movie is due to come out in December.

Poehler is also playing the voice of Joy, the main character in Disney Pixar鈥檚 animated film 鈥淚nside Out,鈥 a story told by the voices inside a young girl鈥檚 head, which comes out June 19.

Nick Offerman (Ron Swanson)

Offerman is taking on a surprisingly serious role in 鈥淢e and Earl and the Dying Girl,鈥 a drama about the friendship between a filmmaker and a cancer patient. He is also working on 鈥淲elcome to Happiness,鈥 in which he plays a children鈥檚 book author who is gatekeeper to a mysterious door. Both movies are scheduled to be released later in 2015.听

Chris Pratt (Andy Dwyer)

Pratt has the lead role in 鈥淛urassic World,鈥 a sequel to 鈥淛urassic Park鈥 in which the park is successfully opened and a man-made dinosaur terrorizes visitors, which will be released on June 12. Next, he will听 be starring in a remake of 鈥淭he Magnificent Seven鈥 with Denzel Washington.

Additionally, he听may play the next Indiana Jones in a rumored fifth installment in the series.

Aziz Ansari (Tom Haverford)

If you only know him from 鈥淧arks and Recreation,鈥 Ansari has several great Tom Haverford-esq stand up comedy specials to check out, including "Live at Madison Square Garden,鈥 which will be coming to Netflix in March.

Aubrey Plaza (April Ludgate)

Plaza鈥檚 next project 鈥淔resno,鈥 is a comedy with Judy Greer about two co-dependent hotel maids in Fresno, Calif. Following it鈥檚 release, she has several other upcoming movies including 鈥淭he Driftless Area,鈥 a drama, 听and 鈥淒irty Grandpa,鈥 a comedy with Zac Efron and Robert De Niro.

Adam Scott (Ben Wyatt)

Adam Scott鈥檚 comedy 鈥淗ot Tub Time Machine 2鈥 was recently released in the movie theaters, and 听later in 2015 he will also be playing a role in 鈥淏lack Mass,鈥 a crime-drama film about infamous Boston mobster Whitey Bulger.

Rob Lowe (Chris Traeger) 听and 听Rashida Jones (Ann Perkins)

Rashida Jones and Rob Lowe made their 鈥淧arks and Recreation鈥 exit mid way through season 6, but they are supposedly coming back in season 7, although it hasn鈥檛 happened yet.

Jones is currently starring as the title character in a new show on TBS, 鈥淎ngie Tribeca,鈥 about 听a veteran of the LAPD's elite Really Heinous Crimes Unit (RHCU). She is also working on a romantic comedy film called 鈥淢atters of the Heart.鈥 Both are scheduled to be released later in 2015. Lowe is working on a new TV show for NBC called 鈥淎pocalypse Slough鈥 with Jenna Fischer from 鈥淭he Office,鈥 about how the end of the world would be aired on television.
