Robin Williams: Some of the actor's projects have yet to hit theaters

Some movies have yet to be added to the already-prolific filmography of actor Robin Williams, who died on August 11.
Williams, who starred in such beloved movies as 鈥淕ood Morning, Vietnam,鈥 鈥淎laddin,鈥 鈥淗ook,鈥 鈥淢rs. Doubtfire,鈥 and 鈥淒ead Poets Society,鈥 was also an acclaimed standup comedian. He won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his work in the 1997 movie 鈥淕ood Will Hunting.鈥
Those who paid tribute to the actor following his death included everyone from聽President Barack Obama, who called him 鈥渙ne of a kind鈥 and said 鈥渉e gave his immeasurable talent freely and generously to those who needed it most 鈥 from our troops stationed abroad to the marginalized on our own streets,鈥 to 鈥淗ook鈥 director Steven Spielberg, who said he was a 鈥渓ightning storm of comic genius," among others who remembered the comedian.
Recently, Williams appeared in the movie 鈥淭he Angriest Man in Brooklyn,鈥 which was released this past May, and on the CBS sitcom 鈥淭he Crazy Ones,鈥 which starred the actor and Sarah Michelle Gellar as a father and daughter working at an advertising agency. He also starred as Dwight D. Eisenhower in the 2013 movie 鈥淟ee Daniels鈥 The Butler.鈥
There are still projects featuring the actor that have not yet been released. The film 鈥淏oulevard" stars Williams as a homosexual man married to a woman who must decide what to do about his sexuality. 鈥淏oulevard鈥 co-stars Kathy Baker and Bob Odenkirk, among others; it premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival this past April but has not yet been widely released in theaters. Variety critic Peter Debruge called Williams' performance in the film "tender" and the character "one of the kindest characters Williams has ever played."聽
The comedy 鈥淢erry Friggin鈥 Christmas" stars 鈥淐ommunity鈥 actor Joel McHale as Boyd Mitchler, who travels with his father (Robin Williams) to try to retrieve gifts that were left at Boyd鈥檚 house, and is scheduled to be released this November. It also stars Lauren Graham of 鈥淧arenthood,鈥 Candice Bergen, and Oliver Platt.
Before Williams鈥 death, McHale spoke with the New York Daily News about the experience of working with the actor. 鈥淲hen you talk to Robin you think, 鈥業 have learned more in the last 20 minutes than I ever learned,鈥欌 McHale said. 鈥淗e is such an open soul and one of the most sensitive and great guys.鈥澛
Williams will also appear in the upcoming film 鈥淣ight at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb,鈥 which is scheduled to be released in December. The actor reprises his role of Teddy Roosevelt, which he took on for the first two 鈥淣ight at the Museum鈥 films. The series stars actor Ben Stiller as a man who discovers that museum exhibits come to life at night.
In addition, Williams stars in the movie 鈥淎bsolutely Anything,鈥 providing the voice of a character named Dennis the Dog. The film follows a teacher who suddenly has the ability to do magic and the cast list includes Monty Python members John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Michael Palin, Eric Idle, and Terry Jones as well as Eddie Izzard, Rob Riggle of 鈥淭he Daily Show,鈥 鈥淭he World鈥檚 End鈥 actor Simon Pegg, and Joanna Lumley of 鈥淎bsolutely Fabulous.鈥 Jones is directing the film. According to ScreenDaily, the movie will be released in the UK sometime in 2015.聽
