'Wolf Hall' miniseries will come to PBS this April

The miniseries stars actor Mark Rylance as advisor Thomas Cromwell and 'Homeland' actor Damian Lewis as monarch King Henry VIII.

The TV adaptation of Hilary Mantel鈥檚 acclaimed novel 鈥淲olf Hall鈥 will be coming to American TVs this spring.聽

According to Deadline, the miniseries 鈥淲olf Hall,鈥 which stars Mark Rylance of the movie 鈥淎nonymous鈥 as King Henry VIII鈥檚 minister Thomas Cromwell and 鈥淗omeland鈥 actor Damian Lewis as the monarch, will air in the US on PBS in April.聽

Mantel won the 2009 Man Booker Prize for 鈥淲olf Hall鈥 and then the 2012 Man Booker Prize for the next book in the series about Cromwell, 鈥淏ring Up the Bodies.鈥澛

The series has also been adapted for the stage in the form of a pair of plays which opened in London鈥檚 West End. The two plays, titled 鈥淲olf Hall: Parts 1 & 2,鈥 will reportedly be coming to Broadway for previews beginning March 20 and will officially open on April 9. (The miniseries 鈥淲olf Hall鈥 is set to air beginning on April 5.)

Actors Lydia Leonard (who portrays the queen Anne Boleyn), Ben Miles (who plays Cromwell), and Nathaniel Parker (who plays Henry VIII) will be coming with the show to New York. Theatergoers can see both parts of the stage production of 鈥淲olf Hall鈥 in the same day, with a break in between, or attend on different days.
