Bestselling author Stephen King turned his computer keyboard to the TV world again recently, writing the screenplay for the premiere of the second season of the CBS drama 鈥淯nder the Dome,鈥 a series based on his 2009 novel of the same name.

This is far from the first time King has adapted his work for movies or TV. King worked on the screenplay for the upcoming movie 鈥淐ell,鈥 based on his novel, with writer Adam Alleca. He also worked on the 2009 TV adaptation of 鈥淐hildren of the Corn鈥 with writer Donald P. Borchers and the 2006 TV movie 鈥淒esperation鈥 as well as adapting his novel 鈥淭he Shining鈥 for the small screen in 1997 and 鈥淭he Stand鈥 for TV in 1994 and writing the screenplays for the 1985 movie 鈥淐at鈥檚 Eye鈥 and the 1989 film 鈥淧et Sematary,鈥 both based on his novels, among others.

However, in this case, King said he was inspired by another well-known author.

鈥淚 knew that George R.R. Martin had written a few episodes of 'Game of Thrones,' and I was very jealous,鈥 he told the Los Angeles Times.

He also revealed that he鈥檚 having trouble with a section of the book he鈥檚 currently working on, saying he鈥檚 a 鈥渕ess,鈥 but has faith that the problem will resolve itself.

鈥淚 don't usually plot in advance, the book usually tells me what to do, but I'm getting to the point where there's a lot of mist ahead and I just sort of hope things work out," he said. "They usually do.鈥

The author will also appear on the second season premiere of 鈥淒ome,鈥 which airs on June 30.聽

King recently published the novel 鈥淢r. Mercedes,鈥 which was released on June 3.聽
