Many voracious readers will take out the previous installments in a series to peruse them again before the newest book is released.聽

And now publisher Little Brown Books for Young Readers is actively encouraging fans to do so, having launched "The Great Daughter of Smoke & Bone Re-read" last month in anticipation of the release of the final book in Laini Taylor's 鈥淏one鈥 trilogy on April 8.

Taylor鈥檚 publishers Little, Brown and the UK company Hodder & Stoughton are in charge of the group on Goodreads that鈥檚 rereading Taylor鈥檚 first two books, 鈥淒aughter of Smoke & Bone鈥 and 鈥淒ays of Blood & Starlight.鈥 For both books, Taylor herself answered fans鈥 questions on the Goodreads discussion page, which currently has more than 1,400 members. According to comments from members, some weren鈥檛 actually returning to a previous reading experience but were picking up the books for the first time.

Taylor鈥檚 final Q&A will take place on April 3 and will center on her e-book novella 鈥淣ight of Cake and Puppets,鈥 which is about two of the trilogy鈥檚 supporting characters.

Ann Dye, associate director of brand marketing for Little, Brown Books for Young Readers, said they hoped to engage international 鈥淏one鈥 fans as well.

鈥淲ith this re-read project, we鈥檙e not just focusing on U.S. readers, but are embracing fans across the globe,鈥 she told Publishers Weekly.

Taylor said in an interview with PW that the way in which social media enriches the reading experience is still fascinating to her.

鈥淚 wonder [what] it would have been like if I鈥檇 had this opportunity as a teenager,鈥 she said. 鈥淚 would have loved being part of an online community built around books, and finding a tribe of people who share a love of books with me. In the Q&A sessions, I鈥檝e been so impressed with readers鈥 questions. This world is very real to them, and to see their level of fascination and immersion in the series is so gratifying.鈥

The first book in Taylor's series is also being adapted into a film, with Michael Gracey attached to direct.
