A trailer for the film adaptation of John Green鈥檚 young adult mega-bestseller 鈥淭he Fault in Our Stars鈥 has been released.

鈥淔ault鈥 stars Shailene Woodley as Hazel, a teenager who was diagnosed with thyroid cancer, and actor Ansel Elgort as Gus, who lost a leg to bone cancer but is in remission when Hazel meets him at a support group.

Actors Laura Dern, Sam Trammell, Mike Birbiglia, and Willem Dafoe are also starring in the film.

The trailer begins with Woodley as Hazel saying that her story is a sad one.

鈥淵ou could sugarcoat it鈥 nothing is too messed-up that it can鈥檛 be fixed with a Peter Gabriel song,鈥 she says. 鈥淚 like that version as much as the next girl does, it鈥檚 just not the truth.鈥

The clip shows Hazel going to a support group for younger people who were diagnosed with cancer (鈥淢ake some friends!鈥 her mother, portrayed by Dern, urges her) and bumping into Gus. When Gus is asked to share his fears with the group, he says only, 鈥淥blivion.鈥

When Gus expresses his feelings to Hazel, she tells him, 鈥淚鈥檓 a grenade. One day I鈥檓 going to blow up and I鈥檓 going to obliterate everything in my wake and I don鈥檛 want to hurt you.鈥

However, the trailer shows their budding romance, with Hazel later saying to Augustus, "You gave me a forever within the numbered days."聽

The film is set to hit theaters June 6.
