Film adaptation of Gillian Flynn's 'Dark Places' will star Charlize Theron, Corey Stoll

'Dark Places' was first released in 2009.

鈥淕one Girl鈥 author Gillian Flynn鈥檚 novel 鈥淒ark Places鈥 is being turned into a film starring Charlize Theron and Chloe Grace Moretz.

In the movie (which has yet to snag a US distributor), Theron stars as Libby Day, a woman who testified at a young age that her older brother was behind the murders of her mother and two sisters. Decades later, Libby searches for those who were involved in the tragic events and begins to discover the truth behind the murders.聽

Actors Corey Stoll of 鈥淗ouse of Cards,鈥 Chlo毛 Grace Moretz of 鈥淐arrie,鈥 Nicholas Hoult of 鈥淴-Men: First Class鈥 and Christina Hendricks of 鈥淢ad Men鈥 are also on board for the project.

Director Gilles Paquet-Brenner of 鈥淪arah鈥檚 Key鈥 is heading up the adaptation.

Flynn's novel "Gone Girl" is also being adapted into a film, with "Gone" starring actors Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike in the lead roles.
