George R.R. Martin's new novella will be a part of the anthology 'Dangerous Women'

The upcoming fantasy anthology 鈥淒angerous Women,鈥 which is being co-edited by 鈥淕ame of Thrones鈥 author George R.R. Martin, will include a novella by the author which is set in the 鈥淭hrones鈥 universe.
The book鈥檚 publisher, Tor, recently posted an excerpt of the novella, which is titled 鈥淭he Princess and the Queen, or The Blacks and the Greens,鈥 on its site. The novella details struggles for the Iron Throne of the country of Westeros almost 200 years before the events of the 鈥淭hrone鈥 universe. In 鈥淧rincess,鈥 members of the house of Targaryen (the family of 鈥淭hrones鈥 heroine Daenerys) are battling for the right to rule.
鈥淒angerous Women,鈥 which is edited by author Gardner Dozois in addition to Martin, also includes works by writers Diana Gabaldon, Lev Grossman, and others. The running theme, according to an introduction by Dozois, is exactly as the title states.

The anthology is scheduled for a Dec. 3 release.
