A new trailer for director Baz Luhrmann鈥檚 adaptation of 鈥淭he Great Gatsby鈥� showcased more of its music and showed a few pivotal events from the book鈥檚 plot.聽

Actor Joel Edgerton, who plays Tom Buchanan, husband of Daisy (Carey Mulligan), got more of a showcase in the new series of clips, especially at the beginning of the trailer. The trailer starts with Tom questioning the identity of Jay Gatsby (Leonardo DiCaprio).

鈥淢r. Gatsby,鈥� Edgerton says, 鈥淚鈥檇 like to know, exactly who are you, anyhow? Can鈥檛 you see who this guy is?鈥� he asks his wife. 鈥淗is house, his parties, his fancy clothes.鈥� He then addresses Gatsby. 鈥淲e were born different from you. It鈥檚 in our blood. Nothing that you do or dream up could ever change that.鈥�

Gatsby snaps and yells, 鈥淪hut up!鈥�

The new trailer also includes more voiceover from Tobey Maguire, who portrays the book鈥檚 narrator, Nick Carraway.

鈥淚 had the uneasy feeling that he was guarding secrets,鈥� Maguire says of Gatsby at one point.

Glimpsed briefly in the trailer are a few pivotal moments in the story, including what looks like Myrtle Wilson (Isla Fisher) being hit by a car and what appears to be George Wilson (Jason Clarke) with a gun.聽

The new trailer features several songs, including 鈥淵oung & Beautiful鈥� by Lana Del Rey, artists Andre 3000 and Beyonce (whose husband Jay-Z is scoring the film) covering the Amy Winehouse hit 鈥淏ack to Black,鈥� and a Florence + The Machine song titled 鈥淥ver The Love鈥� which includes references to 鈥済reen light鈥� (undoubtedly a reference to the dock light at the end of the Buchanan property which serves as a symbol of Daisy to Gatsby).聽

鈥淭he Great Gatsby鈥� was originally scheduled to come out this past December but is now slated for a May 10 release.
