Warner Bros. has decided against adapting Stephen King鈥檚 "Dark Tower" series, the latest obstacle in the effort to get King鈥檚 books to the screen, but Deadline reports that Media Rights Capital is in talks to take on the "Dark Tower" project.
After Universal Pictures put an end to a planned project of multiple feature films and TV series based on the books, Warner Bros. picked up the project, with 鈥淭he Da Vinci Code鈥� director Ron Howard set to direct and frequent Howard collaborator Brian Grazer scheduled to produce. Rumors had swirled that 鈥淟es Miserables鈥� star Russell Crowe could sign on to play protagonist Roland Deschain.
Warner Bros. had planned three movies and two separate TV adaptations to tackle the story, which consists of eight books, including King鈥檚 latest addition to the series, 鈥淭he Wind Through the Keyhole.鈥�
