Award-winning author Neil Gaiman will write five upcoming books for children 鈥 three chapter books and two picture books 鈥 for publisher HarperCollins.
Gaiman, who has written for both children and adults, will begin with the picture book 鈥淐hu鈥檚 Day,鈥 which follows a panda named Chu who has a loud sneeze. It will be released next January. The second picture book will also follow Chu鈥檚 adventures.
Of the three chapter books, one will be a sequel to Gaiman鈥檚 children鈥檚 novel 鈥淥dd and the Frost Giants,鈥 a book about a Norse boy named Odd that was inspired by Norwegian mythology. Another of the chapter books for HarperCollins is currently titled 鈥淔ortunately, the Milk,鈥 but no other details are known. All three books are classified as 鈥渕iddle grade" and are intended for readers aged 8 to 12.
