I鈥檓 taking a second look at John Dos Passos鈥檚 鈥淯SA鈥� trilogy, starting with The 42nd Parallel. When Dos Passos wrote this in the late 1920s, he saw the United States as 鈥渢wo nations鈥� 鈥� one for the privileged and one of the powerless. The more things change, the more they remain the same.
