I just found Hunter, by E. Jean Carroll, on my shelf. It鈥檚 a fabulous look at the mythology and formative life of Hunter Thompson by a writer and personality very much his match. Gonzo journalism was a fun adjunct to the 鈥渘ew journalism鈥� of Wolfe, Talese, and others, a righteous response to the sense that we were falling down the rabbit hole of history with little to guide us.
