'Into the Wild' author Jon Krakauer will write a book about sexual assaults on campus

For his next book, 鈥淚nto the Wild鈥� writer Jon Krakauer will examine sexual assaults at the University of Montana.
The book will be named after the town in which the college is located and will be titled 鈥�Missoula: Rape and the Justice System in a College Town.鈥� The book will be published by Doubleday in April.
In a , Krakauer said someone he was acquainted with was the subject of sexual assault.聽
鈥淚 was angry with myself for being so uninformed, not only about her ordeal but about non-stranger rape in general,鈥� he said. 鈥淚 responded by doing a lot of reading, and seeking out rape survivors who were willing to share their stories. The more I listened to these women, the more disturbed I became.鈥澛�
Krakauer鈥檚 previous work includes the books 鈥淯nder the Banner of Heaven" and 鈥淚nto Thin Air.鈥� Monitor staff called 鈥淚nto Thin Air鈥� 鈥渃ompelling鈥�. [it has] a raw, ruthless sort of honesty.鈥澛�
The author also recently wrote an e-book titled 鈥淭hree Cups of Deceit鈥� about the controversy surrounding 鈥�Three Cups of Tea鈥� writer Greg Mortensen.
