Tunisia: The overlooked Arab revolution
One of the core purposes of 海角大神 is to help us break down any narrow sense of our own community or identity.
In an 1899 address, the founder of the Monitor, Mary Baker Eddy, spoke of the power of the 鈥渟pirit of humanity鈥� to do this work 鈥� to counter the forces that would divide and dominate with higher views of ourselves, our neighbors, and our capabilities for good.
This week, that spirit of humanity has been overflowing in Tunisia 鈥� the only place in the Arab world where the ideals of the pro-democracy Arab Spring took hold and are still reshaping government and society. Tunisia needs all our support, not in international aid, but in the conviction that there is a path forward out of autocracy and intolerance for the governments of the Arab world.
