Sochi Winter Olympics TV schedule: What to watch Sunday
Beginning Sunday morning, Winter Olympics 2014 fans will be able to check out a number of events broadcast by NBC and its cable channels.聽
The first day of alpine skiing kicks off today with men鈥檚 downhill, the fastest race in the sport. Medals will also be awarded in women鈥檚 slopestyle snowboarding, team figure skating, luge, ski jumping, speed skating, skiathlon, and biathlon.
NBC Sports will air live events from 3 a.m. to 2 p.m. EST. NBC will broadcast tape-delayed events on its afternoon coverage from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. EST and 7 p.m. primetime broadcast. Alpine skiing men鈥檚 downhill
The race features the longest and fastest course in Sochi, with skiers expected to of up to nearly 75 miles per hour. Anyone could top the podium here: Norway鈥檚 Aksel Lund Svindal is a favorite, but US skier Bode Miller 鈥� back for his fifth Olympic Games 颅鈥� also has a legitimate shot. Watch out for Frenchman Adrien Theaux and Italians Dominik Paris and Peter Fill.

Women鈥檚 snowboarding slopestyle
After American Sage Kotsenburg shocked the men鈥檚 slopestyle field to snag the first gold medal of the Games yesterday, the women get their chance to shine in the finals of this first-time Olympic sport.
Jamie Anderson of the US came into the competition as the heavy favorite. She鈥檒l have to fend off a challenge from Austrian Anna Gasser who beat her in the qualifying round. Australia鈥檚 Torah Bright, the 2010 gold medalist in the halfpipe is also in the final round.

Team figure skating competition
Teams Russia, Canada, and USA are 1-2-3 heading into the final day of competition in the fist-ever team figure skating competition. The Russians are the team to beat after a stunning performance by 15-year-old Yulia Lipnitskaya in the women's short program Saturday. US ice dancers Meryl David and Charlie White will look to boost the US again after winning the ice dance short program and lifting their team up from its initial fifth-place rank.
The men's free skate can be streamed live at 10 a.m. EST; women's free skate at 11:05 a.m., and ice dance at 12:10 p.m; or on NBC at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m.
