Earlier this year, the plight of the Rohingya, an ethnic and religious minority in Myanmar (Burma), drew outrage directed at not only Myanmar鈥檚 allegedly state-sponsored persecution, which has left 140,000 Rohingya effectively stateless and confined to poorly-resourced camps, but also at nearby countries such as Australia and Thailand for their reluctance to accept refugees fleeing by boat.
