Biden鈥檚 potty mouth: Obama wanted to make it a t-shirt

President Obama thought Vice President Biden鈥檚 gaffe at the healthcare bill signing was just fine. At least, according to Mr. Biden.
At a private fundraising reception Wednesday night, Biden told the crowd that at the morning presidential briefing, Mr. Obama said: 鈥淵ou know what the best thing about yesterday was? Joe鈥檚 comment.鈥�
According to the pool report by Baltimore Sun reporter Justin Fenton, Biden also said Obama told him he tried to have a T-shirt made with his remark on it, but couldn鈥檛 get it in time.
For those in the dark: At Tuesday鈥檚 bill-signing, after Biden had introduced Obama, a live mic picked up Biden saying it was a 鈥�big [bleeping] deal.鈥� Soon after the signing (which used an astounding 22 pens), press secretary Robert Gibbs : 鈥淎nd yes, Mr. Vice President, you鈥檙e right鈥︹��
At this point, they鈥檙e starting to sound like a bunch of bad boys swearing behind their mothers鈥� backs and getting away with it, as my editor says. Maybe they think it helps them fight their "weakling" image"? Though certainly, muscling healthcare reform through Congress, against all odds, should have taken care of that.
And maybe Biden knows it would have made for a more dignified moment in history if he had kept his potty mouth in check.
At Wednesday's reception, held at the home of Baltimore-based developer David Cordish, Biden also said all he could think after he learned the comment had been picked up was, 鈥淭hank God my mom鈥檚 not 鈥︹�� The rest of sentence was drowned out by laughter.
Biden鈥檚 92-year-old mother, Jean Biden, passed away in January.
