Shooting a gun, for a Democrat, doesn鈥檛 mean that National Rifle Association members will suddenly flock to support you. But Kentucky Senate candidate Alison Lundergan Grimes may have helped bring home the idea that she鈥檚 a real Kentuckian, not a clone of the president, in an ad showing her using a rifle for skeet shooting.
Just when you might expect her to say her own name, she turns from skeet shooting to say, 鈥淚鈥檓 not Barack Obama. I disagree with him on guns, coal, and the EPA.鈥� Then comes a photo of incumbent Mitch McConnell waving a gun over his head: 鈥淎nd Mitch," she says, "that's not how you hold a gun." Ms. Grimes kept the race against a tough incumbent close.
