Secretary Clinton insists she won鈥檛 run for president in 2016, but her husband says he鈥檚 open to her trying again. So by staying in the active political game, as an Obama surrogate and fundraising pitch man, the former president is also keeping in touch with his and his wife鈥檚 donor base in case there鈥檚 another round of Hillary for President.
And should Secretary Clinton try again for the Oval Office, it鈥檚 good politics to keep the current Democratic president happy. If Obama wins a second term, that makes him a better surrogate for Secretary Clinton, should she win the nomination. Obama would be expected to remain neutral during the 2016 Democratic primaries.
