Comedian Sarah Silverman didn't mince words in her message to die-hard Bernie Sanders supporters at the Democratic convention: "Can I just say to the Bernie or bust people, you're being ridiculous."

Silverman was one of a number of prominent entertainers who backed Sanders in the Democratic primary against Hillary Clinton. But after dissing Donald Trump, Monday night she told the crowd in Philadelphia 鈥 and a national television audience 鈥 that .

Hillary is our Democratic nominee and I will proudly vote for her.聽

It鈥檚 so inspiring. It鈥檚 so inspiring. Just a few years ago, she was a secretary and now she鈥檚 going to be president.聽

I mean, come on. She鈥檚 like the only person ever to be over-qualified for a job as the president.

So, I tell you this: I will vote for Hillary with gusto as I continue to be inspired and moved to action by the ideals set forth by Bernie鈥檚 movement and a vital part of that movement is making absolutely sure that Hillary Clinton is our next president of the United States.

Booyah, papa boo-yee!

Sanders supporters broke into chants of "Bernie, Bernie," but Silverman quickly ad-libbed and shot back:

"Can I just say to the Bernie or bust people, you're being ridiculous."

As the crowd roared in applause, Minnesota Sen. Al Franken 鈥 standing next to Silverman 鈥 joked, "Listen to what you did."

Franken noted that because he was a Clinton backer and Silverman was with Sanders, they were forming a bridge.

"We're like a bridge over troubled water," he said, and they went on to introduce singer Paul Simon.

An earlier solo appearance by Franken went a little more smoothly.

The former "Saturday Night Live" comedian 鈥 who's now a Minnesota senator 鈥 joked that he's a "world-renowned expert on right-wing megalomaniacs: Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly and now, Donald Trump."

Franken added: "Now a little about my qualifications. I got my doctorate in megalomaniac studies from Trump University."

Trump 鈥 the Republican presidential nominee 鈥 faces lawsuits accusing him of defrauding customers at the now-defunct Trump University, which sold real estate seminars.

Franken asked the crowd of delegates if they knew that "Trump University's School of Ripping People Off is ranked second in the nation, right behind Bernie Madoff University."
