A military lawyer with the Air Force Reserve, Senator Graham has been a close ally of McCain in backing the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as throughout McCain鈥檚 2008 run for the presidency.

Articulate and folksy, Graham criticized Obama for taking too long to step into the Libyan crisis. 鈥淥ne test in foreign policy 鈥 at least be as bold as the French,鈥 he said in a statement on March 16. 鈥淯nfortunately, when it comes to Libya we鈥檙e failing that test."

After the allied air attacks, Graham called for isolating Qaddafi and removing him. 鈥淭his is the best chance to get rid of Qaddafi in my life,鈥 he said on Fox News Sunday. 鈥淚f we don鈥檛 get rid of him, we will pay a heavy price down the road.鈥
