Jellyfish stung over 400 in Florida last weekend
| NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla.
Jellyfish聽were a nuisance to swimmers in the Atlantic Ocean off New Smyrna Beach over the weekend.
Volusia County's Beach Safety Ocean Rescue reported 406聽jellyfish聽stings on Saturday and Sunday.
Capt. Tammy Marris says purple flags were placed on the beach to warn beachgoers about the聽jellyfish.

Beach safety officials said they aren鈥檛 typical-looking jellyfish.
鈥淭hey鈥檙e clear except for one little spot of color in the middle,鈥 said Capt. Ray Manchester, with聽聽Beach Safety.
Officials are still trying to identify the tiny species. Beachgoer Crystal Eaves posted a picture of one of the jellyfish after getting stung along Daytona Beach.
The Daytona Beach News-Journal聽reports lifeguards also performed 14 ocean rescues on Sunday. Surf conditions were moderate, but officials expect conditions to become rougher as Tropical Storm Cristobal passes offshore in the Atlantic.
