Los Angeles Dodgers' A.J Ellis scores as Arizona Diamondbacks' Miguel Montero waits for the throw during the fourth inning of a baseball game on May 16, in Phoenix.

Dodgers catcher聽A.J.聽Ellis聽has gone on the 15-day disabled list with a sprained right ankle, a day after getting hurt while celebrating Josh Beckett's no-hitter.

Ellis聽rushed to join his teammates in the celebration on Sunday in Philadelphia. Around home plate, he stepped on the discarded helmet of backup Drew Butera, who caught the majors' first no-hitter of the season.

Manager Don Mattingly says聽Ellis' injury is poor timing, but that he feels comfortable with either Butera or Tim Federowicz. Butera was to start Monday night at home against the Cincinnati Reds.

The team recalled Federowicz from Triple-A Albuquerque, where he was hitting .298 in 17 games. He played 13 games for the Dodgers in April.
