Vicki Kennedy, Ted Kennedy widow, tapped for USPS board

The White House says President Barack Obama is nominating聽Vicki聽Kennedy聽to the board of governors for the U.S. Postal Service.
Kennedy聽is the widow of former Sen. Ted聽Kennedy, who died in 2009. The Massachusetts Democrat was a prominent supporter of Obama's first presidential campaign.
Vicki聽Kennedy聽is a lawyer and co-founded the Edward M.聽Kennedy聽Institute for the United States Senate. She's also on the board of trustees for the聽Kennedy聽Center.
Kennedy's聽nomination must be confirmed by the Senate. The board of governors chooses the postmaster general and controls the postal service's spending, planning and policies.
