Chicago train crash leaves four dozen injured
| FOREST PARK, Ill.
About four dozen people were injured when two聽Chicago聽Transit Authority trains聽crashed聽in the western suburb of Forest Park.
Forest Park Mayor Anthony Calderone says none of the injuries were serious. He says the injured were taken to ten hospitals, most complaining of back and neck pain. Calderone says it appears one westbound聽train聽and one eastbound聽train聽collided on the tracks at the Harlem station. A section of one of the聽train聽cars was crushed.
The聽crash聽happened between 7:30 a.m. and 8 a.m. during the Monday morning rush hour. Calderone says firefighters from up to a dozen local fire departments responded to the聽crash.
A spokesman with the National Transportation Safety Board in Denver told The Associated Press it did not have any immediate details.
