Networks vie for bragging rights to 'best' Election Night coverage
| Washington
While the main election programs on the broadcast and cable networks do not kick off until 6 or 7 p.m. Eastern, dueling boasts about coverage are already filling the air.
On MSNBC鈥檚 鈥Hardball with Chris Matthews," the cable host thanked on-air analysts Chuck Todd and Charlie Cook, saying, 鈥淲hat a team 鈥 best in the world.鈥
Tweeting a bit earlier, Jennifer Duffy, senior editor of The Cook Political Report (no relation), who is at work calling races for the NBC News decision desk, said her NBC colleagues are 鈥渢he best election team on television.鈥
Meanwhile on CNN, anchor Wolf Blitzer opened a discussion segment at 5:30 p.m. by saying, 鈥淟et鈥檚 bring on the best political team in television.鈥
Fox News Channel has not begun its main election program. But it has adopted the modest title of 鈥America鈥檚 Election Headquarters鈥 for its coverage.
