The Third Congressional District of Michigan, centered on Grand Rapids, is GOP-leaning territory, so Republican House candidate Justin Amash is favored to win.
Mr. Amash, a young member of the Michigan House of Representatives, is something of a tea party and new media star, with a heavy presence on Facebook and some national conservative support. His campaign literature stresses his commitment to 鈥渓imited government, free markets, and individual liberty.鈥� He has been endorsed by Rep. Ron Paul (R) of Texas 鈥� the libertarian father of Kentucky Senate candidate Rand Paul.
