A release date has been set for Netflix鈥檚 upcoming Marvel TV show 鈥淚ron Fist,鈥� the last in the streaming service鈥檚 planned quartet of superhero shows.聽

Superhero Iron Fist and his mild-mannered alter ego Danny Rand will start their Netflix run on March 17. The series stars Finn Jones 鈥� best known to audiences as聽Loras Tyrell聽on聽鈥淕ame of Thrones鈥澛犫�� as the protagonist.聽

Netflix made its first foray into the world of Marvel with the 2015 series 鈥淒aredevil,鈥� which came out in the spring of that year, then followed with 鈥淛essica Jones鈥� in late 2015. 鈥淟uke Cage鈥� debuted this past September, followed by "Iron Fist" in the spring.

Marvel's long-term plan is for all four superheroes to team up for a miniseries titled 鈥淭he Defenders鈥� once the four shows have had a good run.聽

As this initial plan nears its end, how have Netflix and Marvel done so far with these shows?聽

Netflix reveals little information about their viewership numbers, such as whether one program is more popular than another. But some companies have done research about the service鈥檚 viewership. (Netflix usually doesn鈥檛 confirm or deny the numbers; this past summer, when asked about the findings by Nielsen and Symphony Media, respectively, mentioned that the two had found different viewership numbers for the Netflix show 鈥淥range Is the New Black,鈥� then said, 鈥淓ither number, if true, would be great for Netflix.鈥�)聽

鈥淟uke Cage,鈥� the latest release, still has few numbers available, though Netflix servers were nearly overwhelmed following its release, experiencing problems that 聽鈥渓aid at the feet of the popularity of 鈥楳arvel鈥檚 Luke Cage鈥� this weekend.鈥澛�

As for other Marvel shows on the service, reported earlier this year that the second season of 鈥淒aredevil鈥� drew more than 13 million viewers between the ages of 18 and 49 in its first 35 days on Netflix, putting the program behind Netflix shows such as 鈥淔uller House,鈥� 鈥淥range Is the New Black,鈥� and 鈥淪tranger Things鈥� in the same demographic. According to Symphony Media, 鈥淛essica Jones鈥� drew more than 6 million viewers ages 18-49 in its first 35 days, well behind 鈥淒aredevil鈥� but ahead of programs such as 鈥淯nbreakable Kimmy Schmidt鈥� and 鈥淗ouse of Cards.鈥澛�

But while 鈥淛essica鈥� may have lagged behind 鈥淒aredevil鈥� in ratings, the show's first season has been the most critically well-received of any of the Marvel programs, according to review aggregator website . (鈥淒aredevil鈥� is the only one to have released two seasons so far.)聽

The Netflix superhero programming doesn鈥檛 seem to be wearing out its welcome, if anticipation for 鈥淚ron Fist鈥� is any indication: called 鈥淔ist鈥� 鈥渉ighly anticipated鈥� and wrote of 鈥淔ist,鈥� 鈥淚f you, like me, are nearing the end of your 'Luke Cage' binge and feeling the imminent absence of new Marvel Netflix content, take heart: Danny Rand will be making his streaming service debut 鈥� All of Marvel鈥檚 Netflix programming so far have been great (鈥楯essica Jones鈥� is still the highlight for me), so there鈥檚 good reason to have high hopes for 鈥業ron Fist,鈥� and for 鈥楾he Defenders,鈥� too.鈥�
