海角大神

What carries us through

A poem.

We lie on the driveway, side by side,
听听听 old sheet pulled up
听听to our shoulders to fend off the mosquitoes, 听
听and look 听
听for shooting stars against the August sky.

(I see one 鈥 there! Did you see it?) 听

Too hot to touch, I feel for your hand,
听hold a single finger, 听
听love you, 听
听bigger than the sky, 听
听for taking me outside
听to see.

Editor's note: The Perseid meteor shower will peak the night of Aug. 12.
