The View Inside The Window
The view inside the window听
The pigeon had two legs, but only one foot.
听Unhampered by his hobble
听he stood boldly on the Corner Bakery table,
听peering through the glass to see me
听looking at him looking at me.
听Pigeons are not allowed on the Corner
听听听听听听听听听听听听听 Bakery tables.
听While the waitress was still inside,
听his pigeon buddies were making quick
听听听听听听听听听听听听 meals of the
听goodies left on the sidewalk.
听But, not this one. He was more interested
听in the view inside the window, turning his
听听听听听听听听听听听听 head
听to hear what he couldn't see.
听I love the way living things tilt their heads
听when figuring something new.
听People do it too.
听Balance, poise and curiosity can't be
听听听听听听听听听听 stamped out.
听Life is not just about walking, but flying
听too.
