Poem in the Chinese Manner

A poem.

Poem In The Chinese Manner听Living on the banks of the bayou,
听I meet few people who care
听for poetry or politics.
听Early on a foggy morning,
听I drink the day's first green tea.
听Spider webs thin as a breath stain the grass.
听A nutria scuttles into the water.
听Four mallards float by in company.
听My corrupt government seems far away
听and the writing of heron tracks in the mud
听may be all the poetry I need.
