Singer Bruno Mars has released a new song, 鈥�24k Magic,鈥� that reviewers say is a continuation of his nostalgia-influenced sound and which Mr. Mars says will be a song on an upcoming album.

鈥淢agic鈥� will also be the title of a new album by Mars that will be released this November. The song 鈥淢agic鈥� is the first solo song that Mars has come out with in four years (not counting, for example, the smash hit 鈥淯ptown Funk,鈥� which was released by Mark Ronson and on which Mars was featured).聽

Mars has also released albums such as 鈥淒oo-Wops & Hooligans鈥� and 鈥淯northodox Jukebox鈥� 鈥撀爐he latter of which, his previous album, spawned several hit singles.聽

Before releasing his own music, Mars co-wrote and/or produced such hit songs such as Travie McCoy鈥檚 song 鈥淏illionaire鈥� and the B.o.B song 鈥淣othin鈥� On You.鈥澛�

The singer performed at the 2014 Super Bowl with the band the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and returned at this year鈥檚 Super Bowl to perform alongside Beyonce and Coldplay.聽

Much of music is of course influenced by what came before, and critics say this is especially evident with Mars. The strategy has obviously been a successful one for Mars, and one that the public has responded to positively: the artist has released various hit songs in the last several years, including 鈥淯ptown Funk,鈥� 鈥淛ust The Way You Are,鈥� 鈥淕renade,鈥� and 鈥淟ocked Out of Heaven.鈥澛�

Mars "infuses his songs with old-fashioned crooning as classily antique as his wide-brimmed fedora,"聽 wrote of Mars鈥檚 album 鈥淯northodox Jukebox,鈥� comparing it to his debut, 鈥淒oo-Wops & Hooligans.鈥澛�

鈥�24K Magic鈥� is more of that style, according to , who writes of the song he calls a 鈥渢hrowback,鈥澛犫�淢ars gets groovy, pulling from sounds and styles that were hugely popular in both the 1970s and 1980s.鈥�
