'Unlocked' is a barely engaging spy thriller

Noomi Rapace's CIA agent character is clearly being positioned as a distaff Jason Bourne. The movie demonstrates that鈥檚 easier said than done.

There is a justifiable hankering now for female action stars. Gal Gadot鈥檚 Wonder Woman broke the mold big-time, at least in terms of commercial success, and there is even talk now 鈥 idle, no doubt 鈥 that Gadot should be cast as the next 007. And then there is Charlize Theron in 鈥淎tomic Blonde,鈥 who can kick-punch with the best of the guys.聽

Into this field falls Noomi Rapace in 鈥淯nlocked,鈥 whose CIA agent character is clearly being positioned as a distaff Jason Bourne. As this barely engaging spy thriller demonstrates, that鈥檚 easier said than done.聽Grade: C (Rated R for violence and language.)
