'How to Train Your Dragon 2' is directed by Dean DeBlois.

DreamWorks Animation鈥檚 鈥淗ow to Train Your Dragon 2,鈥 directed聽by Dean DeBlois, is the sequel to its 2010 hit, which grossed almost half a聽billion dollars.聽Overlong and overly busy but more emotionally powerful聽than its predecessor, it brings back the amiable Hiccup (voiced by Jay聽Baruchel), who doesn鈥檛 fancy becoming head of the Viking clan ruled聽by his burly father, Stoick (Gerard Butler). It鈥檚 a foregone conclusion, of聽course, that he will rise to the occasion.聽

The dragons in this movie are聽expertly brought to life, and there is an especially moving sequence in which聽Hiccup鈥檚 faithful dragon, Toothless, is forced to kill someone dear and聽Hiccup is roiled by the emotional consequences. Grade:聽B+ (Rated PG for adventure action and some mild rude humor.)
