Hailee Steinfeld will star in action-thriller 'Term Life'
Hot off the crowd-pleasing Toronto hit 鈥淐an a Song Save Your Life?,鈥� Oscar-nominated actress Hailee Steinfeld (鈥淭rue Grit鈥�) has closed a deal to join Vince Vaughn in Universal鈥檚 action-thriller 鈥淭erm Life,鈥� TheWrap has learned.
Peter Billingsley will direct from a script by A.J. Lieberman, who wrote the original graphic novel that he created with Nick Thornborrow.
Vaughn stars as Nick Barrow, who plans and sells heists to the highest bidder but finds himself hunted by mob bosses, contract killers and dirty cops.聽To help his estranged daughter Cate (Steinfeld), he takes out a life insurance policy on himself with her as the beneficiary 鈥� but he has to stay alive for 21 days, and takes his daughter on the run.
Vince Vaughn, Micah Mason and Victoria Vaughn will produce for Wild West Picture Show Productions.
Billingsley and Vaughn previously worked together on Universal鈥檚 鈥�Couples Retreat,鈥� which grossed $172 million worldwide.
Steinfeld, who was nominated for an Oscar at the age of 14 for her performance in 鈥淭rue Grit鈥� opposite Jeff Bridges, will soon be seen as the title character in 鈥淩omeo & Juliet.鈥� She also co-stars in 鈥淓nder鈥檚 Game鈥� and John Carney鈥檚 鈥淐an a Song Save Your Life,鈥� which the Weinstein Company acquired in a heated bidding war at the Toronto International Film Festival.
