Not being a Gleek, I approached 鈥Glee: The 3D Concert Movie鈥 in a virginal state. (Where is Justin Bieber? Oops, wrong movie.) Well, I鈥檓 still not a Gleek, but I can see what all the fuss is about. This rousing documentary directed by Kevin Tancharoen and shot during two live concerts in New Jersey, is a nonstop campy celebration of youthful pizazz.

Most of the 鈥淕lee鈥 performers, who include Dianna Agron, Amber Riley, Kevin McHale, Heather Morris, and Darren Criss, aren鈥檛 just hyperenergetic 鈥 they can really put on a show. My favorite numbers here are 鈥淒on鈥檛 Rain on My Parade鈥 by the brass-lunged Rachel (Lea Michele) 鈥 she may look like Streisand but her sound is her own 鈥 and a touching rendition of 鈥淚 Want to Hold Your Hand鈥 by Chris Colfer.

A bit too much is made of how the 鈥淕lee鈥 TV show has transformed the lives of its fans, many of whom are interviewed at length in the course of the movie. I wonder: What will become of them when the show is eventually canceled? There鈥檚 always reruns, I guess. Grade: B+ (Rated PG for thematic elements, brief language, and some sensuality.)
