Last Night: movie review
In 鈥�Last Night,鈥� Keira Knightley and Sam Worthington play a Manhattan married couple, Joanna and Michael, who seem to be experiencing their seven-year itch a bit early. Jealous Joanna picks a fight with Michael over the attractive new business colleague he鈥檚 been keeping mum about. Since the colleague, Laura, is played by Eva Mendes, Joanna has a point.
When Michael and Laura go to Philadelphia for an overnight business meeting, who should suddenly appear in Manhattan but Joanna鈥檚 old French flame Alex (Guillaume Canet)? Writer-director Massy Tadjedin cuts back and forth between these twin temptations. Will Michael succumb and prove Joanna correct in her suspicions? Will Alex鈥檚 French accent conquer all? Do you care? I didn鈥檛. Grade: C- (Rated R for some language.)
