聽A northern Maine woman kept her word to act as a surrogate mother, and has given birth to her grandson.
The Portland Press Herald reports 49-year-old Linda Sirois of Madawaska carried and delivered the baby, Madden Hebert, because her daughter Angel Hebert could not. Angel, who's 25, has a health condition聽 that doctors believe made it unsafe for her to get pregnant.

The 7-pound, 14-ounce Madden was born Aug. 13. His mother says he's "eating like a champ and he doesn't fuss too much."
Sirois said she's offered for years to become a surrogate mother for Angel聽 if a doctor said she shouldn't become pregnant. Hebert, of Presque Isle, Maine said she and husband Brian Hebert got that word last summer.
The family told the Press Herald that they've been overwhelmed by the global media attention: 鈥淧eople have done this before, right?鈥 she told the newspaper.
