A new trailer for the upcoming Marvel movie 鈥淐aptain America: Civil War鈥� has been released and got fans talking because of a cameo at the end of the clip.聽

It had long been reported that Spider-Man, who has already been at the center of five of his own films, would appear in 鈥淐ivil War.鈥� Comic book fans know that the web-slinger played a role in the 鈥淐ivil War鈥� storyline when it appeared in print.聽

And now the new trailer, which shows various superheroes allying either with Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) or Captain America (Chris Evans), ends with Cap finding his shield yanked away and his hands tied up by a spider鈥檚 web.聽

鈥淗ey, everyone,鈥� Spider-Man (newbie Tom Holland) says.聽

The plot of 鈥淐ivil War鈥� centers on a government act that requires superheroes to register themselves. Iron Man is for it, while Captain America is opposed.聽

The film is one of two being released by Marvel this year, with a movie centering on a new superhero, 鈥淒octor Strange,鈥� coming out this November.聽

It will be interesting to see how 鈥淐ivil War鈥� performs at the box office. Marvel is hugely successful financially. Of the films released by Marvel Studios (rather than just involving Marvel characters), the two highest-grossing movies are 2012鈥檚 鈥淭he Avengers鈥� and that movie鈥檚 sequel, last year鈥檚 鈥淎vengers: Age of Ultron.鈥澛�

While the upcoming movie brands itself as part of the 鈥淐aptain America鈥� film series (the previous movies were 鈥淐aptain America: The First Avenger鈥� and 鈥淐aptain America: The Winter Soldier鈥�), it more closely resembles the 鈥淎vengers鈥� films, what with the movie seeming to involve almost every Marvel character we鈥檝e seen so far, judging from the trailers. Even Paul Rudd鈥檚 Ant-Man, introduced in this past summer鈥檚 film of the same name, makes an appearance.聽

鈥淚t鈥檚 the very fact that so many heroes band together 鈥� and clash against one another 鈥� that gives this is movie its charm,鈥� wrote of the original 鈥淎vengers鈥� movie. (And it certainly looks like there will be a lot of clashing in 鈥淐ivil War.鈥�) 聽鈥溾�� [It鈥檚] a smart, subtle, and funny critique of the bad things that good people, and ostensibly good governments, are willing to do in the name of security."聽

鈥淐ivil War鈥� looks like it will take this thinking even further.聽

Marvel has also pretty well staked out early May as the time for a new Marvel release. Both 鈥淎vengers鈥� movies opened in early May, as did the third-highest-grossing Marvel movie ever, 鈥淚ron Man 3.鈥� Now 鈥淐ivil War鈥� will open in that spot and predicts the time will be lucrative again for Marvel. 鈥淢arvel has ruled that first weekend in May,鈥� Truitt wrote.
