'Flight of the Conchords': Here's what Jemaine Clement revealed about future projects

Flight of the Conchords member Jemaine Clement recently discussed some possible projects that the group has planned.
Clement and musician Bret McKenzie make up the group Flight of the Conchords. Under the name, the duo have released albums including 2008's 鈥淔light of the Conchords鈥 and the band was at the center of an HBO series of the same name. The TV show aired from 2007 to 2009 and was nominated for several Emmy Awards.
In addition, their work 鈥淭he Distant Future鈥 won the Grammy Award for best comedy album.聽
Clement recently revealed in interviews that he and McKenzie have plans to work together. He of a possible tour, 鈥淲e were planning聽on doing it this summer, but then I ended up doing聽[the upcoming Steven Spielberg film] 鈥楾he BFG鈥櫬爄nstead. So it鈥檚 my fault we didn鈥檛 do it this time. But we are hoping to announce a tour. We鈥檒l announce it before the end of the year, hopefully, and then some time next year get聽on the road.鈥
In addition, Clement said a Conchords movie is possible.聽
鈥淲e have actually started writing one,鈥 he . 鈥淏ut who knows if it will ever be made. We've written some notes for some different film ideas.鈥
Other acts that have received acclaim recently for incorporating comedy into music include Tenacious D, a band made up of actor Jack Black and Kyle Gass, and singer 鈥淲eird Al鈥 Yankovic, whose 2014 album 鈥淢andatory Fun鈥 became his first number one album on the Billboard chart and won the Grammy Award for best comedy album.聽
Since the end of the HBO series, both Clement and McKenzie have acted and worked on various movies. McKenzie won an Oscar for Best Original Song for the track 鈥淢an or Muppet,鈥 which appeared in the 2011 movie 鈥淭he Muppets,鈥 and he also appeared in the 2012 film 鈥淭he Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.鈥 (He had had a small role in the 鈥淟ord of the Rings鈥 trilogy as well). Meanwhile, Clement has acted in such films as the 鈥淩io鈥 animated movies, the 2014 critical hit 鈥淲hat We Do in the Shadows,鈥 and 2014鈥檚 鈥淢uppets Most Wanted,鈥 for which McKenzie served as music supervisor.
