A new trailer has been released for the upcoming documentary 鈥淚 Am Chris Farley.鈥澛
Comedian Chris Farley rapidly rose to fame in the 1990s on 鈥淪aturday Night Live鈥 and in various movie comedies such as 鈥淭ommy Boy鈥 and 鈥淏everly Hills Ninja.鈥 He died in 1997 at the age of 33 from a drug overdose, according to .
The film includes interviews with such 鈥淪aturday Night Live鈥 co-stars Adam Sandler, David Spade, and Molly Shannon as well as 鈥淪NL鈥 creator Lorne Michaels and other comedy contemporaries. Farley appeared on 鈥淪NL鈥 from 1990 to 1995.
鈥淭here is a category of people that I work with that are infuriatingly talented,鈥 Mr. Michaels says during the trailer. 鈥淎s long as they鈥檙e in this world, I think you always recognize whatever it is when you see it. You鈥檙e always drawn to that.鈥澛
The film is directed by Derik Murray of 鈥淚 Am Evel Knievel鈥 and 鈥淎 Brony Tale鈥 director Brent Hodge. Farley's other films include 鈥淏lack Sheep鈥 and 鈥淎lmost Heroes,鈥 and he also appeared in small roles in films starring 鈥淪NL鈥 alums like 鈥淲ayne鈥檚 World鈥 and 鈥淏illy Madison.鈥澛
Anticipation for the documentary is likely to be high as Farley himself is regularly ranked as one of the best 鈥淪NL鈥 cast members in the show鈥檚 40-year history 鈥 , , the website , and the all put him in the top 15.

According to , the film 鈥淔arley鈥 will come to theaters on July 31 and then be available on demand beginning on August 11.
