Here's how Jessica Lange's coming back to Broadway

Actress Jessica Lange will reportedly be returning to Broadway.聽
According to , the actress will star in a new version of the Eugene O鈥橬eill play 鈥淟ong Day鈥檚 Journey Into Night.鈥� Ms. Lange has previously appeared in such productions as 鈥淭he Glass Menagerie鈥� and 鈥淎 Streetcar Named Desire鈥� on the Great White Way.聽
The production of 鈥淒ay鈥� will open in April 2016 and, according to , will be produced by Ryan Murphy, who co-created the FX series 鈥淎merican Horror Story鈥� on which Lange starred for multiple seasons. According to the NYT, actors Gabriel Byrne, who was nominated for a Tony Award for his work in 鈥淎 Moon for the Misbegotten,鈥� and actor John Gallagher Jr., who won a Tony for his appearances in the musical 鈥淪pring Awakening,鈥� will co-star.聽
Lange returns to a Broadway that is reportedly doing well financially. According to the , Broadway just had its best season ever in terms of both revenue and audience figures and stars like Lange appearing in shows was most likely part of it.聽 Actors Helen Mirren (who starred in 鈥淭he Audience鈥�), Bradley Cooper (who headed up 鈥淭he Elephant Man鈥�), and Hugh Jackman (of 鈥淭he River鈥�) were all there during the season.
And there were still plenty of old favorites for those who wanted to see them. 鈥淭he Lion King,鈥� which opened on Broadway in 1997, was the highest-grossing show, according to , and 鈥淭he Phantom of the Opera鈥� performed well also.
Deadline writer Jeremy Gerard also noted that more 鈥渄ynamic pricing,鈥� in which the cost of a ticket can change based on how popular it is, could have also contributed to the financial success of the season.
Other shows currently on Broadway include old successes like 鈥淲icked鈥� and 鈥淢amma Mia!鈥� as well as new and critically acclaimed productions like 鈥淔un Home鈥� and 鈥淪omething Rotten!鈥�
