Stephen Colbert: Here's when the last episode of his 'Colbert Report' will air

The date of the last episode of the Comedy Central show 鈥�The Colbert Report鈥� has been announced.
The last installment of the program starring Stephen Colbert will air on Dec. 18. The show debuted in 2005 following Colbert's stint as a correspondent on Comedy Central鈥檚 鈥�The Daily Show.鈥� On 鈥淐olbert,鈥� the host presents himself as a right-wing pundit and comments on the day鈥檚 events.
Colbert will be taking over for David Letterman on CBS鈥檚 鈥�Late Show鈥� sometime in 2015. According to , some believe he will debut in fall 2015. He said in a that he will not be hosting 鈥淟ate Show鈥� as his 鈥淐olbert鈥� character.

CBS host Craig Ferguson, who helms the 鈥淟ate Late Show鈥� program, is airing his last show on Dec. 19, according to . New 鈥淟ate Late Show鈥� host James Corden will debut in March.
However, before he moves over to CBS, Colbert still has an election to discuss. According to , 鈥淭he Colbert Report鈥� and 鈥淭he Daily Show鈥� will air live episodes on Nov. 4.
