Vince Vaughn, Colin Farrell are confirmed to star in new season of 'True Detective'

Soon after actor Colin Farrell revealed he would star in the upcoming season of the critically acclaimed HBO drama 鈥淭rue Detective,鈥� HBO confirmed that Farrell will star and stated that actor Vince Vaughn will also be in the new episodes.聽
Farrell recently said in an interview with the Sunday World that he is 鈥渄oing the second series鈥� I鈥檓 so excited鈥� and that the new season will consist of eight episodes like the first season. Now HBO has confirmed that Farrell and Vaughn will star in the new episodes, according to , and that Justin Lin of 鈥淔ast & Furious 6鈥� will direct the first two episodes in the new season.
The official summary of the new episodes, according to , is 鈥淭hree police officers and a career criminal must navigate a web of conspiracy in the aftermath of a murder.鈥�
Farrell will play a police detective named Ray Velcoro who has ties to a mobster, while Vaughn will portray Frank Semyon, a criminal who tries to start a law-abiding venture but soon discovers that a business partner has been killed.
According to Deadline, the other two police officers will be named Paul Woodrugh and the other will be Ani Bezzerides.
The first season of the drama starred Matthew McConaughey of 鈥淒allas Buyers Club鈥� and 鈥淭he Hunger Games鈥� actor Woody Harrelson as police detectives in Louisiana investigating a series of bizarre crimes.
