奥颈迟丑听Moonlight, Woody Allen continues his jaunt around Europe, after having made a stop in the States for the Oscar-winning contemporary dramedy,听. This new comedy 鈥� shot on location in the South of France 鈥� is set in the 1920s, where Stanley (Firth) makes a living by pretending to be an Asian magician (not exactly an admirable profession, even back then鈥�), who debunks fake seers and mediums for a living. However, the cynical Stanley may鈥檝e met his match at last, when he crosses paths with a young, sharp-witted, American spiritualist named Sophie (Stone).

Thematically, it sounds like听Magic in the Moonlight听covers similar ground as that explored in previous Allen films, by pitting Firth鈥檚 skeptic against Stone鈥檚 more opened-minded counterpart. The cast is a typical Allen movie collection of acclaimed character actors 鈥� Jacki Weaver (Silver Linings Playbook), Oscar-winner Marcia Gay Harden (The Newsroom), and Eileen Atkins (Beautiful Creatures) among their ranks. Combine that with what appears to be fine chemistry between the film鈥檚 charming leads (judging by the trailer), and it seems safe to assume that Allen鈥檚 latest film ought to please most of his steadfast fans.

If Woody Allen films aren鈥檛 your bag, though, you can also just wait to catch Firth in Matthew Vaughn鈥檚 upcoming super-spy comic book movie,听. Meanwhile, Stone will make appearances in such upcoming 2014 flicks as the Hollywood satire听听and the still-untitled new Cameron Crowe rom-com (based on his old听script). Allen is seemingly as taken with the young woman as everyone else is, seeing how he鈥檚 already听听for his planned 2015 movie release.
