Amy Poehler SNL: The former cast member returns for a 'Really!?!' segment with Seth Meyers
Former 鈥�Saturday Night Live鈥� cast member Amy Poehler returned to the show 鈥� and her old 鈥淲eekend Update鈥� desk 鈥� to contribute to a segment with her 鈥淯pdate鈥� deskmate Seth Meyers.
Poehler and Meyers reprised their 鈥淩eally!?! with Seth and Amy鈥� routine for a skit on the recent IRS scandal.
Loud cheers in the studio greeted Meyers introducing the segment and Poehler making her entrance. 鈥淎re you ready to jump back into it?鈥� he asked Poehler, who then tried out a few different indignant 鈥淩eally?鈥漵.
鈥淵ou got it, you got it,鈥� Meyers told her.
The 鈥淪NL鈥� head writer, who will be taking over 鈥淟ate Night鈥� host Jimmy Fallon鈥檚 job, called the IRS 鈥渓ess popular with Americans than exercise.鈥�
鈥淒on鈥檛 get me wrong,鈥� Meyers said. 鈥淚 understand that even if you do your job perfectly, IRS, no one is going to give you a Gatorade shower, but you got to try a little harder.鈥�
鈥淭he government only keeps you around to make the DMV look good,鈥� Poehler added.
Meyers and Poehler also called out President Obama for his professed ignorance of what had been going on and tea party groups for being surprised that they were targeted by the IRS.
鈥淥ne more thing, IRS,鈥� Poehler said. 鈥淧lease don鈥檛 audit me, I just did my taxes and I did them all wrong. I鈥檓 really, really, really sorry.鈥�
Meyers has stated that he鈥檒l be returning to 鈥淪NL鈥� in the fall and staying for a few months before he takes over for Fallon as 鈥淟ate Night鈥� host.
Meanwhile, Poehler is currently starring in the NBC sitcom 鈥�Parks and Recreation,鈥� which just got renewed for a sixth season.
The May 18 season finale of 鈥淪aturday Night Live鈥� was hosted by Ben Affleck and was reportedly the last episode for longtime cast members Bill Hader, who has confirmed he鈥檚 leaving, and Fred Armisen, who hasn鈥檛 publicly discussed his departure but sang a song with lyrics such as 鈥淚鈥檝e had a lovely night鈥� at the end of the May 18 season finale. Speculation has surfaced that Jason Sudeikis may be departing as well, but that has not been confirmed.
