Jack Nicholson, Jennifer Lawrence chat post-Oscars
Best Actress winner Jennifer Lawrence had an unexpected encounter with an Oscar legend when she was being interviewed by ABC鈥檚 George Stephanopoulos.
Lawrence was chatting with Stephanopoulos when actor and Oscar staple Jack Nicholson, who often attends the ceremony, whether he鈥檚 nominated or not, came up behind her.
Lawrence let out a huge gasp when she realized who was over her shoulder, and it turned out Nicholson wanted to let her know he was a big fan.
鈥淵ou did such a beautiful job,鈥� Nicholson told her of her movie. 鈥淚 don't mean to crash your interview.鈥�
鈥淵eah, you鈥檙e being really rude,鈥� Lawrence joked.
鈥淵ou look like an old girlfriend,鈥� the 鈥淪hining鈥� actor then added.
鈥淥h, really?鈥� Lawrence inquired. 鈥淒o I look like a new girlfriend?鈥�
After Nicholson left, she buried her head in her hands. 鈥淥h my God. Is he still here?鈥�
Nicholson then popped up in view of the camera again, said, 鈥淚鈥檒l be waiting!,鈥� and disappeared.
鈥淚 need a rearview mirror!鈥� Lawrence exclaimed.
Lawrence took home the Best Actress award for her work in 鈥�Silver Linings Playbook,鈥� and was nominated previously for her work in the 2010 movie 鈥淲inter鈥檚 Bone.鈥�
She鈥檇 also received praise for her graceful handling of an accident in which she tripped on the way to receive her Oscar. When some members of the audience gave her a standing ovation when she reached the stage, she said, 鈥淵ou guys are just standing up because you feel bad that I fell.鈥�
In addition to her other films, Lawrence is currently the head of a young adult movie franchise in her role as Katniss Everdeen, the heroine of the dystopian 鈥�Hunger Games鈥� trilogy. The second installment in the series, 鈥淭he Hunger Games: Catching Fire,鈥� is due out this November.
